Who we are

The Java Shoppe ("we", "us") is a community coffee house and event space in Akron, Ohio. This policy covers thejavashoppe.com and purchases or bookings made with us online or in person.

Booking details: your name, phone number, email address, the date and time you request, and your event selections — so we can hold your slot, confirm it, and send your receipt.
Payment information: when you pay online, your card details go directly to our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number on our servers. Stripe processes your payment data under its own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.
Messages you send us: emails, contact forms, and booking notes.
Basic website logs: our hosting provider records standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) to keep the site running and secure. We do not run advertising trackers.

To run your booking: confirmations, receipts, reminders, and changes.
To process payments through Stripe and, where needed, issue refunds.
To answer your questions and keep records our accountant and the law require.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send marketing you didn't ask for.

Stripe — payment processing (card data goes to them directly).
Our service providers — website hosting (Vercel), our booking database (Supabase), and our email provider, strictly to operate the services above.
Authorities — only if the law requires it.
Nobody else. No data brokers, no advertisers.

Booking and payment records: as long as needed for our books and tax obligations (typically 7 years).
Everything else: only as long as it's useful for serving you.

Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (where the law doesn't require us to keep it).
One email to info@thejavashoppe.org does it — we respond within 30 days.

Our website and online booking are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new effective date.
